Are you constantly on alert, fearing danger is just around the corner?
Do you find it hard to connect or feel uncomfortable in social situations?
What would your life look like if you felt Safe and Sound?
Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a five-day auditory intervention designed to reduce stress and auditory sensitivity while enhancing social engagement and resilience. According to Dr. Porges’ groundbreaking research on the human nervous system, known as the "Polyvagal Theory," calming the physiological and emotional state, the door is opened for improved communication and more successful therapy.
The SSP is a research-based therapy showing significant results in just five days in the following areas:
Social and emotional difficulties
Anxiety and trauma related challenges
Stressors that impact social engagement
Consider this program if:
You or your child struggles with self-regulation or emotional instability.
You or your child avoids or feel challenged by social situations.
You or your child has difficulty interpreting the emotional meaning of language or gestures.
- You or your child suffers from hyper-vigilance, unable to let down your guard or feel completely relaxed.
- You or your child longs to feel more safe, connected, calm and social.
About the program
This program is suitable for both children and adults. It is a non-invasive intervention that involves listening to music specifically processed to retune the nervous system (regulating state) to introduce a sense of safety and the ability to socially engage. This allows you to better interpret not only human speech but, importantly, the emotional meaning of language. Once interpersonal interactions improve, spontaneous social behaviors and an enhanced ability to learn, self-regulate and engage are often seen.
The program is usually delivered over five consecutive days. Sessions are 60-minutes long, but can be shortened to 30-minute increments for very young or very sensitive individuals.
The program includes:
A thorough listening assessment
Five consecutive one-hour home listening sessions
Ongoing coaching and supervision during the program
Post-program assessment with recommendations for next steps
Discounts for multiple family members, or when combined with another program
