Too much stress? Too little sleep?
In all my years of supporting people to find balance and enjoy inner harmony, there is one complaint I hear over and over.
I have too much stress and not enough sleep!
Do you realize that after just one night of poor sleep, you’re not only tired and irritable, but your memory is impaired, you have a temporarily lower IQ, and you’re less productive the next day as well!
If this condition becomes chronic, you leave yourself vulnerable to worse problems like depression, weight gain, Alzheimer's, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and even cancer.
Some people voluntarily sacrifice sleep to get things done (not recommended!), but what if you try to get good sleep but you just can’t do it?
What if you…
Go to bed on time, but you can’t fall asleep or you wake up before you’re ready?
Reduce coffee, eat well, exercise, and wind down in the evening, and it’s still hard to sleep?
Try sleep medications but they don’t work as well as you’d like?
You are not alone!
Indeed, there is an epidemic of sleeplessness in our culture. Up to 40% of people in the United States have trouble with sleep.
That’s because until now, there haven’t been good solutions to help you sleep. If you have trouble with sleep, even when you do the right things, it might be that an unhealthy change in your BRAIN is keeping you awake, and you won’t get the sleep you want until you change your brain.
That's what happened to me after a head injury and I found myself looking - and feeling - like something the cat dragged in after one to two desperate hours of sleep... night after night for months!
Fortunately, my healing journey led me to the office of Dr. Jim Otis, a board-certified functional neurologist and expert on how your brain affects your sleep. He's developed a fabulous program called BrainTime, based on recent discoveries in neuroscience that give us the ability to create the conditions in our brains to ensure great sleep (and improve other aspects of our health as well).
Within weeks of starting BrainTime, I was sleeping through the night, and finally started feeling like myself again!
